What Is Your Spark Today?

How important is curiosity for you? Chances are that without curiosity your days are more predictable, less social and much slower than the days of a curious person. With more curiosity you may live a frantic life with loads of new contacts and many surprises. I personally am immensly curious, especially on the idea level, and I love it.

Life is so much more fun if you actively invite curiosity into your life. No matter how old you are, if you choose to look at life through the eyes of a child, reality is full of wonders.

Any situation, no matter how mundane, can become a source of excitement, if you look at it through the lense of an explorer.

We stayed in the Paris Las Vegas hotel today. Accordingly, there was a painting dedicated to Paris on the wall. When I woke up I looked at it. It had cubistic elements in it. There were inspirational words as well, like Très Bien, oui! and bonne chance - which reminded me of the fact that I wanted to paint some art with similar elements, cubistic pieces and words. Unfortunately other things had interfered with my desire, but I could still feel the burning wish in my gut.

I realized though that I needed to make some stencils to paint the words. Or maybe I could buy them?
I've read a book once about finding your treasure, and the main advice of the author was that one should always take some action, no matter how big or small, upon an inspiration. And if it was only a quick search on google.

Great advice! I pulled out my phone and searched for stencils on ebay and amazon. Voila! Here they were - many offers. Now I did have no excuse any more to take action and get going.

Which sparked another idea. What if this was a potential business?

A few days ago I've read that people seemed to make loads of money with selling on amazon. This is how it works: You would have to find a product on amazon that had enough sales, but was not too competitive (a rank between 500 and 5000), find an equivalent product on Alibaba, improve on it and sell it on Amazon. Naturally I had no interest do sell gym-tools, massage belts or supplements (some of the hot products that make millions), but tools related to art would be a good fit for me.

I made some notes and promised myself to have a closer look at this opportunity. But I was on holidays and we had other priorities. Las Vegas lay before us like a virgin eager to be discovered ... well, ok, probably the worst analogy possible speaking of Las Vegas, I admit ;-).

This is what I love about a good day: Experiencing sparkling ideas while still in bed, before the day had even started!

The lesson is clear:

1. Notice one idea
2. Act on it
3. Notice another idea
4. Act on it

It's really simple, except that people usually omit step 2 and 4.

Please, do yourself a favor and take action.

You can't start a fire without spark.
- Bruce Springsteen

There is no way you can have an impact without action. But it starts with an idea.

Do you want to achieve something great, turn heads and shine your light? Don't wait, start now!

What is your spark today?
